Building Evacuation Analysis

Chaotic evacuations during emergency evacuations are often the cause of more deaths than the crisis requiring the evacuation itself.  Our building evacuation study analyses the most effective routes of egress in the event of a fire or any other emergency that is a threat to life.

Using simulations, we create an occupant evacuation model that factors in a threat assessment of all points of origin of the fire and all the potential blockage points during the evacuation. We analyse the egress system and identify target spaces in the evacuation. The occupant evacuation model simulates evacuation in static and the dynamic blocking situations and records occupation changes at every section during egress. With this analysis, we can estimate the time required to evacuate the building and modify the exit path to achieve desired evacuation time.

Other Solutions

HVAC Design

Our HVAC designs are optimised for energy conservation and compliant with ASHRAE and ISHRAE guidelines and complaint with National Building and Energy Conservation Building Codes.

CFD Analysis

Fluid flows simulation and modelling to analyse HVAC performance, ensuring crucial problems are identified and solutions devised even before the system is designed.

Smoke Analysis

Fire and smoke propogation simulation to understand air flow profile so architects and structural engineers can make design improvements to ensure an optimum evacuation path.

IES Simulation

Simulation modelling allows us to compare different approaches by assessing all aspects of thermal performance, from annual energy consumption to individual surface temperatures.

Pressurisation Analysis

Stairwell pressurisation simulation to define the right level of pressurisation – relatively high so smoke is kept out of the building and sufficiently low to enable stairwell access during evacuation.
