One of the largest, high profile and aesthetically eloquent projects in Pune, EON covers an area of almost 40,00,000 sq ft with an air conditioning capacity requirement of 18,000 TR.
Given the size and scale of the project, the client wanted a district cooling system.
Afer we went over the detailed project schedule of 6-7 years with the client, they expressed concerns about the investment in a large air-conditioning plant at the initial stage. There would be multiple phases of project completion and the tenants would not come in a single go. The cost of the system would initially be very high to tenants/client along with the cost and challenge of maintaining and operating such a large system. We were also concerned about the usage and treatment of water over an extended period to avoid corrosion of pipes which would have to be buried underground.
To address all of these challenges, we recommended a zone/floor wise Air cooled VRV system which is much more efficient for part loads. By doing this, the project owner could invest in equipment as an when needed instead of at the start of the project.
